The Havan department store chain was recognized, for the second time in a row, as one of the 10 best companies to work in Brazil in the Great Place to Work (GPTW) ranking. The disclosure took place this Thursday, 4th, via online transmission, and the retailer moved up one position in relation to last year, obtaining the 8th position in the category “Retail Large”, in a universe of 200 registered organizations. With 155 megastores present in 17 Brazilian states, Havan has more than 20 thousand employees. In order to prepare the ranking, the GPTW, the world’s largest authority on matters relating to the world of work, conducts interviews with employees of the branches, the Administrative Center and the Distribution Center, and also thoroughly analyzes the company’s Human Resources practices on behalf of employees, such as valuing employees, respect for differences, opportunities for growth and development, and much more.
Havan’s first major achievement was certification with the GPTW Seal. Then the company participated in the state ranking, whose recognition does not differ between sectors and only the size of organizations, and the retailer remains among the first placed in Santa Catarina. And now, Havan has been crowned in the national ranking in the retail sector, being the only Santa Catarina department store company to receive recognition.
Development coordinator Goreti Maestri emphasizes that, during the survey, 35% of the people interviewed by GPTW were hired in the year 2020. “It is a clear reflection that it is better than saying, to be recognized for doing. People were chosen at random and spoke about their perceptions about the company. Having this result is a source of great pride, because for Havan employees are a key part of our success. They delight customers and convey the Havan way of being.”
The Human Resources manager, Aurélio Paduano, says that receiving recognition, in this challenging period, brings the feeling of accomplishment. “The year of 2020 presented us with challenges that we never imagined. Since the beginning, we have focused on keeping employees and not making dismissals. We adopted MP 936 and managed to close the year with more people on the teams than we had at the beginning of the pandemic. This placement reflects the strength of our pillars, which is to be a company focused on employees, customers and suppliers. I see that we are on the right path”.
The owner of Havan, Luciano Hang, celebrates the placement, which although it is in relation to the year 2020, arrives at a very special moment for the company, which turns 35. “If we got here, it is because each of these more than 20 thousand employees does their best every day. We are a retail company and to be successful, everyone needs to be happy. Before winning the customer, our focus is to delight employees, do the best for them. This is our greatest effort: promoting opportunity and a better life for people through work. With that, the result comes, we are very happy and excited to continue as one of the best companies to work in Brazil.”
