Restoration works of Espirito Santo Church progress in Blumenau

The restoration works of Espirito Santo Church, in Blumenau (SC), are progressing and the Lutheran Parish received this Thursday, 23rd, project donors to present how the works are progressing. Havan is among the companies that contributes with the project and the event also marked the church’s 144th anniversary.

The Espirito Santo Church is a older historic patrimony from Vale do Itajaí. The construction dates from 1877 and the monument was listed as a national historical and artistic heritage, for being a rare construction remaining from the colonial period in the Vale do Itajai.

In this first moment, the restore have been concentrated in the roof, in the organ that was inaugurated in 1933, in the church’s tower, lantern structure, chandelier, and still, in the stained glass windows. In addition to, the works must include adaptations to accessibility and safety regulations, improvements in drainage close to the building and internal and external lighting, as well as access to contemporary technologies that provide the best reception conditions for celebrations, concerts and visitation.

In total, the restoration works must exceed R$5 million and they have only been possible thanks to donations from the private sector. Havan is one of the main donors to the project, through the Federal Cultural Incentive Law. “We are so happy to contribute with this project, we know about the historical importance of this building and how is important to preserve the culture. We also had this concern when we restored and instal the Havan store in Castelinho”, said the expansion director, Nilton Hang.
