The department store chain Havan was recognized as one of the best companies to work in Santa Catarina, at the Great Place to Work (GPTW) award. The disclosure took place on Wednesday, 09, and the retailer was among the first placed in the category “large companies”, in which 15 organizations participated.
The award has been taking place for 9 years in Santa Catarina. This is the second consecutive year that Havan has participated in the ranking, ranking the top positions. Unlike national awards, there is no differentiation between sectors, only in relation to the size of organizations. In total, 55 companies from Santa Catarina competed for the award at the state level.
Havan’s Human Resources manager, Aurélio Paduano, details that the ranking is based on the practices that the company has been adopting for the benefit of its employees. He also says that for Havan it is a source of pride to be among the first placed companies again, and that’s also an incentive for the company. “It is a sign that we are on the right path, that employees recognize our efforts to make Havan one of the best companies to work”.
Havan’s owner, Luciano Hang, highlights that being among the first placed in the GPTW is an answer about the positioning that the company has adopted since its foundation: winning the hearts of employees. “At Havan we have three pillars: employee, customer and supplier. Our goal is to have a team happy to wear the green and yellow shirt. In this very unusual year, we made every effort to keep jobs and provide the security that people needed. This care for people is one of the secrets of Havan’s success”, he says.
GPTW
Acting as a global authority in the world of work and as an expert in transforming organizations into good places to work, GPTW publishes more than 40 rankings annually, awarding the Best Companies to Work at national, regional, sectoral level (such as IT and Health) and thematic (Best Companies for Women).
In August of this year, Havan was certified for the second time with the GPTW seal. In this stage, the evaluations of the employees of more than 150 stores across Brazil, teams from the Administrative Center and Distribution Center were measured.
Now, Havan participates in the phase that points out the ranking of the best companies to work in Brazil. The result is expected to be released in January 2021, when Havan is competing in the “National Retail – large” category.
