Ymanitu Silva, or Many, as he is known, is one of the athletes sponsored by Havan, that, thanks to the incentive, manages to continue his career as a Paralympic athlete.
After suffering a car accident in 2007, at the age of 24, Many became quadriplegic and thought that his dream of being a tennis player had been interrupted there, but even in the face of difficulties, he struggled to get support and go in search of what he wanted. In 2018, he met our CEO Luciano Hang on a business trip and through him, he got a sponsorship from Havan to give even more strength to his dream. Thanks to the incentive, which has been going on for two consecutive years, the athlete was able to buy a professional wheelchair to practice the sport and increase his performance in training.
Today, Many accumulates titles across Brazil and the world, being a finalist in the Grand Slam of Roland Garros 2019 and the first Brazilian in wheelchair tennis to participate in the competition. Many carries the colors of Havan with him around and we are proud to be part of this story full of strength and determination.
“If I hadn’t believed in my dreams and had the willpower, I wouldn’t have made it this far. But I know that all the achievements that I have achieved in my life, I did not achieve alone, Havan is part of all of them. I am very grateful to Havan for strengthening my career and I would like to say that without it, most of these achievements would not be possible”, Ymanitu Silva, professional Paralympic tennis player.”
